Project overview
"Natural lighting in a game world" has been the subject of my University dissertation. I have been researching and documenting how light and atmospheric effects work in the real world and how this can be translated into a game world. I have mostly focussed on exterior lighting. I have chosen to represent all four seasons of the year, at four times a day.
I have used CryEngine 3 FreeSDK to prove my findings. Shown here are a time lapse movie and four sets of eight images, one set per season, consisting of two views per set.
